The Women’s Choice Award listing puts you front and center as women begin their search for a financial advisor.
Women trust the opinions of other women, and you will benefit from a robust marketing campaign for the Women’s Choice Award program and media outreach to female consumers by program sponsors Women Certified and WIFE.org, a well-respected non-profit dedicated to financial education for women.
The Women’s Market
Today women hold more than half the wealth in the United States and own 40% of America’s privately held businesses, and there’s more to come. Baby boomers stand to inherit $10 trillion in the next few years, and women will get the bulk of it as they outlive their fathers, brothers and husbands.
The women’s market is strong and getting stronger, as the greatest wealth the world has ever seen settles in the hands of baby boom women. Yet this affluent market is underserved: Only 20% of women investors have a financial advisor, but 70% would like to work with one. Why don’t they? Until now they didn’t know where to turn.
Overview of the Women’s Choice Award Program
Affluent women are more likely than men to consult financial advisors, but in the past they often didn’t know how to find someone trustworthy and competent, who understands them and to whom they can relate. With the Women’s Choice Award program for Financial Advisors they now have a trusted resource to begin their search.
The Women’s Choice Award for Financial Advisors, originated by WomenCertified®, Inc. in cooperation with WIFE.org, is the only recognition program for financial advisors that is based on the voice of the female financial consumer, and it recognizes those advisors who women would highly recommend. Women trust the opinions of other women.
The popular Women’s Choice Award program is in use in businesses such as Maytag, Whirlpool, Trane, Kaiser Permanente, Scripps, automotive dealerships, and more than 50 healthcare systems around the country, but until now, no program like this has existed in the financial industry. Connecting women investors with financial advisors, the program benefits both.
Qualification and Costs
WomenCertified.com conducts rigorous research to find professionals who provide quality services to their clients. The basic program costs $500 for a biannual survey of the advisor’s clients. Advisors who are highly recommended by 9 out of 10 of their female clients will receive a basic listing for two years on the WomenCertified.com and WIFE.org roster of Women’s Choice Award Financial Advisors.
Many advisors wish to enhance their listings to provide more information and highlight their accomplishments as they use the award to reach out to clients and prospective clients.
The enhanced program, available at an additional $750 annual fee, provides the financial advisor with full licensing and marketing usage rights of the Women’s Choice Award, interactive online listings at WomenCertified.com and WIFE.org including a landing page profile with photo and link to the advisor’s web site, a compliance approved press release for distribution, online educational tools about marketing to women, a certificate suitable for framing, and preferred status for referrals and press contacts.
Program Benefits
The Women’s Choice Award survey full research report will let you know what your clients think. In a competitive marketplace, now more than ever, it’s critical to engage your clients and build loyalty. You can choose from a menu of questions that highlight the factors that help you build authentic relationships, understand your clients’ likes and dislikes, and pinpoint areas for improvement so you can define and set goals for short- and long-term business development and client retention.
Women trust the opinions of other women and the Women’s Choice Award listing puts you front and center as women begin their search for an advisor. You will benefit from a robust marketing campaign for the program and media outreach to female consumers by program sponsors Women Certified and WIFE.org, a well-respected non-profit dedicated to financial education for women. Currently the program sponsors reach over 300,000 women consumers each month with their online presence and newsletters.
The benefits of the program far exceed the costs. On average, advisors spend about 3% of their gross annual revenue on marketing. At cost of just $750 per year* for the enhanced program, plus $500 bi-annually for the invaluable survey, an advisor who adds just $500,000 of new assets at a 1% fee will more than pay for the cost.

Compliance
The SEC issued a Staff No-Action letter on March 24, 1998 assuring that if a program met five criteria, they would not recommend enforcement action for advertisements under Section 206(4) of the Investment Advisors Act of 1940 and Rule 206(4)-1(a)(1). The Women’s Choice Award Advisors Program meets these five criteria.
An advisor who is included on the Women’s Choice Award Financial Advisors listing may pay an additional fee that provides the advisor with an expanded listing and profile as well as full licensing of the Award for use on their website, marketing materials and advertising. In its No-Action letter, the SEC Staff put forth eight points that should be considered when determining whether any advertisement is a testimonial that is false or misleading. The listings of Women’s Choice Award Advisors meets those eight points.
